Digital photography
digital (adj.) From Latin digitalis, from digitus + -alis .
1.Having to do with digits (fingers or toes); performed with a finger. 2. Property of representing values as discrete numbers rather than a continuous spectrum. 3. Of or relating to computers or the Information Age .
This project reflects on the topic of touching images encouraged by the new multi-touching technologies. Every photo, as Roland Barthes mentioned, can be understood as an index finger pointing at something or someone and saying look at this! In this sense, Image touché shows tautological pictures with my left index finger in the image in an ambiguous gesture that at the same time index and touches the photo.
All the pictures were taken with an Smartphone (contemporary photo album) and explore the current amateur uses of digital photography. The photos aim to remain digital and be exhibited with Smartphones or mini-tablets that the audience can touch.
